How to add facilities
A facility is a physical production site — a factory or plant — that your company owns and operates directly. Companies with multiple production sites can register each one separately, with its own address and its own subset of manufacturing capabilities.
Facilities are not for subcontractors or third-party manufacturers. If part of your production is outsourced to another company, that work should be represented by involving that company directly on TexCloud (e.g. through its own manufacturing processes and components) rather than by adding it as one of your facilities.
Prerequisite: your company must already declare its manufacturing processes (the "Manufacturing" step of company creation/editing) before you can assign any of them to a facility — a facility's capabilities are always drawn from that company-wide palette.
- From your company page, go to Facilities and click New Facility.
- Fill in the facility's name, country, state, city, postcode, and address.
- Under Capabilities, check which of your company's manufacturing processes this specific facility performs.
- Click Save.
Every company automatically gets one primary facility seeded from its own address when it's created — you don't need to create that one manually. Add more facilities only if you operate additional production sites.
Once a facility exists with capabilities assigned, it becomes available to select when adding manufacturing processes to a component (see How to add manufacturing processes), letting you record exactly which site performed which step.
