How to create components
Components represent the materials and products in your supply chain — from raw fibers to finished garments. Go to New Component to start.
- Details — Enter the component's name, reference, origin country, and category. If this component is a raw or atomic material (nothing is made from other components), check Atomic.
- Composition — Skip this if the component is atomic. Otherwise, search for and select the subcomponents it's made from. If a subcomponent comes from a supplier who isn't on TexCloud yet, create a dummy component as a placeholder you can later link to their real profile once they join.
- Quantities — Enter how much of each subcomponent is used. The quantities must add up to 100%.
After saving, your component page shows a quality checklist with four milestones: component created, images added, technical tests added, and manufacturing processes added. Complete these from the component's page to build out a fully documented, trustworthy component profile.
